What it is for

Most study apps record how long you studied. Very few record the days you meant to study and did not, and why. StudyFlow does both, because the missed days are usually the interesting ones — that is where the pattern lives. A subject can be planned across as many days of the week as you actually study it, and every skipped day is logged with a reason instead of silently vanishing from the record.

Who it is for

Students and self-directed learners who study on a schedule and want to see honestly whether they are keeping to it.

How to use it

  1. 1

Open Study, pick a duration, and hit Start. Before the clock begins you are asked whether you are ready — answering no logs a reason rather than losing the session.

  2. 2

The five-second countdown after yes is deliberate: it cannot be skipped, so starting becomes a decision rather than a tap.

  3. 3

Add your subjects on the Schedule tab and pick every day of the week you study each one. It stays one subject, not five copies.

  4. 4

Watch the running session on your lock screen or status bar — subject, time remaining and the date, counting down natively even with the app closed.

  5. 5

Open Insights for the activity heatmap, hours by day, week, month or subject, and the reasons behind every day you skipped.

Why not something else

Each row names the thing you would otherwise install, because “better” is meaningless without saying better than what.

How StudyFlow compares to common alternatives
If you would otherwise useWhat changes with StudyFlow
Plain countdown timer appsA timer tells you a session lasted twenty minutes. StudyFlow tells you which subject it was, which day it belongs to, and whether you have been consistent across a term.
Habit trackersHabit trackers score whether you turned up. StudyFlow asks what got in the way when you did not, and charts those reasons — so a bad month is diagnosable rather than just red.
Subscription study suitesNo account, no subscription, no sync. Everything is stored on your device and the whole app is a single APK you can sideload and keep forever.
Spreadsheet usersThe daily goal, the timetable and the streak are maintained for you. There is no formula to write and nothing to remember to update.

What's inside

Live lock-screen countdown

An Android foreground service owns the count, so it keeps running with the app closed or the screen off and is still right after a doze.

Weekly timetable

Plan one subject across many days, grouped and deleted as a single unit rather than as separate copies.

Activity heatmap

Twenty-six weeks of study at a glance, with a month axis and five intensity levels.

Drill-down insights

Hours grouped by day, week, month or subject, filtered by date range and subject, with a day view underneath.

Honest history

Skipped days are kept with the reason you gave for them, never quietly dropped from the totals.

Ready gate and breaks

A five-second arming countdown you cannot skip, and breaks that require a reason — so fumbled starts are visible instead of absent.

Achievements and day counter

Ten milestones derived from your own record, plus a Day N capsule counting the days since you installed.

Entirely local

No account, no server, no telemetry. Uninstalling removes everything, which is the only way your data can leave the device.

What it doesn't do

Stated here rather than left to be discovered after installing.

  • Data lives on this device only. There is no cloud sync, so a second phone starts from scratch and uninstalling clears your history.
  • Scheduled "time to start this subject" alerts from the timetable are not built yet — session-end alerts and the live countdown are.
  • Timed sessions are the only thing tracked; there is no assignment or gradebook.

What's changed

  • v2.7.0

The app now tells you when a new version is ready, without ever interrupting a session. A welcome message on first open shows who built it, and the studio credit appears on every screen.

  • v2.6.0

Achievements and the Day N counter.
